How to use YAZ:The tablets should be taken every day at about the same time, possibly with a little liquid in the order shown on the plate. The tablets must be continuous. Take one tablet daily for 28 consecutive days.Start the next pack the day after the last tablet of the previous board. A
withdrawal bleed usually starts 2 or 3 days after I started taking the
placebo tablets (located on the last row) and it is possible that it is
not completed in time to start the next pack.Terms of initiation of treatment with YAZ:· No previous hormonal contraception (the previous month):The tablets should start on day 1 of the cycle, that is to say the first day of menstruation.· Changing from a combined oral contraceptive (COC / COC, vaginal ring or transdermal patch)Take
the first pill YAZ preferably on the day after taking the last active
tablet (the last tablet containing the active substances) of the
previous COC, or later than the day following the usual tablet-off
period, or day after the last tablet of the previous COC placebo. If
relay a vaginal ring or transdermal patch, take the first tablet YAZ
preferably on the day of withdrawal or at the latest the day for the new
installation.·
Changing from a progestogen-only contraception (progestogen-only pill,
injectable, implant) or intrauterine system (IUS) containing a
progestin:In
women, the relay can be: at any time in the cycle if it is a progestin
only pill, the day of the withdrawal in the case of an implant or IUS,
or day for the next injection if it is an injectable form. In
all cases, it is recommended that women use a method of additional
mechanical contraception during the first 7 days of taking YAZ.· After an abortion in the first trimester:It is possible to start contraception immediately in these women. It is not necessary to use an additional contraceptive method.· After delivery or abortion in the second trimester:It is recommended that women should start contraception after 21 to 28 days.If
this contraceptive is started later, they will be recommended to use a
complementary method of barrier contraception during the first 7 days of
treatment. However,
if intercourse has already occurred, it is necessary to ensure the
absence of pregnancy prior to taking the estrogen-progestin oral
contraceptives or wait for the return of menses. If breastfeeding, see Pregnancy and lactation. What to do if you miss one or more pills:Forgetting 4 white in the last row of the plate is compressed oblivion placebo tablets and therefore has no real importance. However, the missed tablet should be discarded to avoid unintentionally prolonging the placebo period. The following tips apply only if you forget the active tablets.A delay of less than 12 hours in taking a pill does not affect contraceptive efficacy. It
is advisable for women to take the forgotten as soon as this omission
is found compressed, taking the following tablets taking place at the
usual time.If the delay is greater than 12 hours, contraceptive security can be reduced. In case of missed tablets, the following two rules must be known as necessary to select the action to be taken:1. Taking tablets should never be interrupted for more than 4 days;2. Seven days of uninterrupted treatment intake are necessary to obtain a correct inhibition of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian.Accordingly, the following advice can be given as part of everyday practice.· Day 1-7:It
must be asked women to take the last missed tablet as soon as
remembered is found, even if this means taking two tablets at the same
time. The tablets should be taken at the usual time. An additional barrier contraception (eg condoms) is, however, necessary for the next 7 days.If intercourse took place during the 7 days before oblivion, there is a risk of pregnancy. The
risk of pregnancy is much higher than the number of missed pills is
important, or the date of oblivion is near the beginning of the row of
placebo tablets.· Day 8 to 14:It
will be recommended that women take the last missed tablet as soon as
remembered is found, even if this means taking two tablets at the same
time. The tablets should be taken at the usual time.If
the tablets have been taken correctly during the 7 days preceding the
first missed tablet, no additional contraceptive precautions are
required. However, if you forget many tablets, it should be recommended for women to take additional precautions for 7 days.· Day 15-24:The risk of decreased contraceptive activity is maximal because of the proximity of taking four days of placebo tablets. However, it is possible to reduce the decline in contraceptive effect by adjusting the following procedures to take the tablets:o
If the woman has taken all tablets correctly in the 7 days preceding
the missed tablets, no additional contraceptive precautions are
required. It is then possible to follow one of two patterns taken as described below.o
Otherwise, it should be recommended for women to follow the first
pattern-making and use an additional contraceptive method for the next 7
days.Figure 1:It
is recommended that women take the last forgotten as soon as this
omission is found compressed, even if two tablets should be taken at the
same time. The following tablets are then taken at the usual time, until you have completed the active tablets of the wafer. 4 tablets in the last row (placebo tablets) should not be taken. The next pack should be started immediately. Withdrawal
bleeding is unlikely before the end of the assets of the second wafer
tablets, but "spotting" or bleeding can be observed during the period of
taking the tablets.Figure 2:Can alternatively advise the woman to stop taking the active pills of the plate being. It
will then take tablets of the last row (placebo tablets) for up to four
days, including the number of days on which tablets have been missed,
and then it will start the next pack.In
a woman who forgot to take one (or more) tablet (s), absence of
withdrawal bleeding while taking placebo tablets will have to look for a
possible pregnancy. What to do in case of gastro-intestinal disorders:In
case of severe gastro-intestinal disorders (eg, vomiting or diarrhea),
absorption of a tablet may not be complete, additional contraceptive
measures should be taken.If
vomiting occurs within 3-4 hours of taking an active tablet, new tablet
should be taken as a replacement as soon as possible. The new tablet should be taken if possible within 12 hours after the usual time taken. If
more than 12 hours have passed, the same instructions as given for the
forgotten tablets should be applied (see Dosage and Administration "What
to do if you miss one or more pills" mode) .If the woman does not want to change the normal tablet-taking schedule, it will take or tablet (s) Extra (s) on another plate. How to delay the rules? The occurrence of the rules may be delayed starting a new pack of YAZ without taking placebo tablets of the current pack. The rules can be delayed until the end of the active pills of the second plate if necessary.During this period, bleeding or "spotting" may occur.YAZ can then be returned to normal after taking the placebo tablets. It
is possible to shift the onset of rules to another day of the week by
shortening the duration of taking the placebo tablets the number of days
required.As
a late period, the greater the interval, the greater the risk of
absence of withdrawal bleeding and the occurrence of bleeding or
"spotting" when taking tablets the next pack is important.YAZ: its appearance and shapeThe
active film-coated tablet is a tablet pale pink, round, convex
surfaces, with the letters "DS" etched in a regular hexagon on one side. The
placebo is a film coated tablet White, round, with convex sides, with
the letters "DP" etched in a regular hexagon on one side.YAZ: presentationYAZ: how it worksPharmacotherapeutic group: Progestogens and estrogens. Fixed AssociationsATC code: G03AA12Pearl Index for method failure: 0.41 (upper limit of the confidence interval of 95% bilateral: 0,85).Overall Pearl Index (method failure + patient failure): 0.80 (upper limit of the confidence interval of 95% bilateral: 1,30). The
contraceptive effect of YAZ is based on the interaction of various
factors, the most important being the inhibition of ovulation and
endometrial changes.YAZ is a combined oral contraceptive ethinyl estradiol and progestin, drospirenone. At therapeutic doses, it also has anti-androgenic properties and mild anti-mineralocorticoid activity. She has no estrogenic activity, glucocorticoid or anti-glucocorticoid. Drospirenone is provided with a pharmacological profile similar to that of the natural hormone, progesterone.Clinical studies indicate that mild anti-mineralocorticoid activity of YAZ causes moderate anti-mineralocorticoid effect. Two
multicenter, randomized, double-blind, controlled against placebo have
been conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of YAZ in women with
moderate acne vulgaris.After
six months of treatment, compared to placebo, YAZ showed a greater
reduction, statistically significant 15.6% (49.3% against 33.7%) in the
number of inflammatory lesions, 18.5% (40, 6% against 22.1%) of non-inflammatory lesions and 16.5% (44.6% against 28.1%) of the total number of lesions. In
addition, the percentage of women who have had a "free" score or
"substantially free" according to the global scale of investigator
assessment ISGA (Investigator's Static Global Assessment) was higher,
11.8% (18.6 % against 6.8%).
